Since the **DTR** and **RTS** lines of the FTDI chip are directly connected to the **nRST** and **BOOT0** pins of the STM32, those lines need to be forced into high (nRST) and low (BOOT0) state respectively. In `gtkterm`, simply toggle the reset line once via _Control signals_ > _Toggle DTR_ (or press _F7_).
